Fresh Tracks offers early birds a mountain-sized breakfast buffet and early loading privileges. Upload to the Roundhouse Lodge on Whistler Mountain between 7:30am and 8:30am. As soon as Whistler Patrol gives the okay on avalanche clearance, you’re free to hit the open runs on the upper half of the mountain.

Available Dec 14, 2007 - March 30, 2008

Fresh Tracks Tips

    * Be at the base of the Whistler Village Gondola at 7am. Upload between 7:30-8:30am.
* On busy days, Fresh Tracks may sell out. Access is limited to the first 650 people at the base on the morning of the breakfast.
* Put your Fresh Tracks ticket in a handy pocket, because you must hand it in at the Roundhouse Lodge at the top.
* Listen for the “Runs are open” call when you’re in the Roundhouse Lodge.
* Do not ski/ride all the way back to the bottom of the mountain. If you do, you will not be allowed back up before the regular opening time without purchasing another Fresh Tracks Ticket (you handed in your ticket at the top).
* Emerald Express and Big Red Express will be the usual lifts open to you at the top of the mountain.

Note: Children 6 & under are free

GoLark launched!! http://www.golark.com
The idea is to go to this site and find the best local events and activities. You submit and vote on the events to get the best ones to the top of the list. You can then filter and sort the event listing by your interests, schedule, and location.

We’ve decided to focus our efforts on getting it going in NYC first, but if you’re not in that area, feel free to use it as a personal event amongst your friends in your area. And sharing the link with all of your friends via email, facebook, myspace won’t bother us at all

see everyone in canadia

Sep 26, 2006

Boxes are a great feature to learn boardslides, front boards, and 270-outs on because they’re super easy to shred. Boxes are nice and wide compared to a handrail, so you don’t need to worry if you’re not perfectly centered on the box. For a boardslide, hop on the box at a 90-degree angle and stay centered over the board, flat-based, until you reach the end of the box—it’s too easy. So instead, I’m going to walk you through one of my favorites, the boardslide to 270 out.

01.
Approaching a box is pretty mellow; you don’t need to hit it from a crazy angle or anything. Just stay calm and loose, and roll up on it.

02.
I like to pop off my toes on the takeoff and land in more of a tailslide, instead of landing totally square in the middle of the box—it makes snapping the 270 out easier.

03.
Now that you’re sliding, stay over the board so it doesn’t spit out in front of you. Hold the position with your knees bent.

04.
As you near the end of the box, begin to rotate your head and shoulders in the frontside direction.

05.
Spring an ollie off your back foot and initiate the frontside spin—use your shoulders to direct the rotation. The front 270 feels just like a frontside three, but it’s easier to land.

06.
If you keep your eyes on the ground and bend your knees with the board pointed straight down the hill, you shouldn’t have a problem with the landing.

07.
Don’t fall and break your wrist… has anyone done that? Nahh no way? Ohh Check out the pictures from 03 to find out…
